Red Wing 873

Question:
I was given a REDWING vase by my grandmother years ago. It is apx. 4 inches tall, muted green with some brown, the top is fluted and 873 REDWING is on the bottom. Can you give me an apx. age and value? Thanks Bonnie

Answer: Bonnie, This mini vase is from around 1939, part of a group of whatnot’s and minatures. The glaze is most likely matt green. Value is around 45-50. thanks, steve n rose

Boston Bean Pots

Question:
On page 158 of RED WING POTTERS & THEIR WARES by Gary and Bonnie Tefft is a large poster showing Stoneware and Stoneware Specialties. One item is Boston Bean Pots in FIVE sizes with largest being two gallon. I’ve dabbled with Red Wing for 30 years and have never seen a two gallon brown and white bean pot. Does such exist? Also printed is 23 ounces. That does not make much sense as the smallest of the five (one quart) holds 32 ounces of liquid. Possibly just a typo. Thank You Jim

20 Gallon Red Wing

Question:
I have a 20 lb. red wing crock.It is 7" high +1/2" rim.11 1/2" across, 34" around. It has a 4 1/8" red wing, blue 20 lbs. in rectangle.I don’t know my glazes, it is a beige grey in color. It is in perfect condition, No crack of chips. It has no trademark oval or writing on bottom. I would like a value please, Ed

Red Wing M 144

Question:
I have a RedWing black vase with the marking of Red Wing USA M 144 on the bottom. It is 9ins tall and the lip is 3ins wide. As you can see in the photors it has a leave design. Would like do know how old and it\’s value. Thank you Donna

 

Answer: Donna, This is a M 1441, circa 1956. The glaze is black, and value around 30.00 or so. thanks, steve n rose

Bud Vase/ Ashtray Receiver #876

Question:
The piece i have is from my grandfather, it is a pinkish colored donkey standing about five inches high wearing a bowtie type clothing around its neck that hangs down. On the bottom it says red wing and is numbered 876 which is etched in. i was wondering if this was a red wing product and how much it would be worth. thank you, Cory Seemann P.S. it is in excellent shape except for a little chip out of the left ear not very deep.
