Red Wing Vases #918
Question:
Hi, I just came into possession of the two huge Red Wing vases and have not been able to find out much about them. They are each 12 1/2" high and about 12" across at the widest point. The interior is a wonderful rich gold and the exterior is a warm burnished brown with an interesting crackle in the glaze. I would appriciate a value and possible an outlet. Thanks for any help you can give me. I can send a picture of the mark if you like. Trudy
Stoneware?
Question:
I have a friend who’s mother has an unusual piece of pottery. It is round at the top about 2 feet at the top and gets narrower at the bottom where there is a poigot at the bottom. It is about 6 ft tall and sits on a stand. It is made of crockery. Do you have any idea what this might be, and might it be Red Wing??

Red Wing Bowl M1491
Question:
I have a black footed bowl that is marked Red Wing U.S.A. M-1491. I’ve been able to determine from the questions/answers on this site that the M stands for Charles Murphy the designer. Also, I located one site that gives this a 1955 production date. I’ve done all sorts of searches and cannot locate a value for this bowl. It has a wonderful free-form type shape and is on three little feet. It’s perfect and has a foil label. Thank you for any help you may give me. Ruthann
