Red Wing Union Stoneware stamp claificiation
Question:
Al, About three weeks ago I submitted a question about a 2 gallon birch leaf with the ski oval. You mentioned that the ski oval was used from about 1895. I guess I am confused. On the RWCS pages it states that the ski oval was used between 1909-1915? The oval on my crock says "Red Wing Union Stoneware" which in the books says the company used that name between 1906-1936. So did they actually use this name on an oval before the company name change and if they did, Did all three companies use there own name stamps even during the period of 1894-1906 of the "Union Stoneware Company? Thanks Warren.

Salt Glaze crock with blue decoration -Meade Ohio
Question:
Hello! In the process of cleaning out my grandmother’s garage attic, I came across a 4G crock (pic attached). It very closely resembles the Red Wing crock; however, there are no markings and I have a few concerns. First, the handles do not appear to be in the correct position for a RW. In addition, the crock is a gray/blue color. I am certain this is old, as no one has dared go into the attic in nearly 50 years. The only chip is seen in the picture and there are no cracks. If this is not a Red Wing crock, would you have an idea of the maker? Thank you so much for your time. It is GREATLY appreciated! Jean Kennedy, Muskegon, MI Jean
