Stoneware Collection
Question:
Hi there! I have 3 Red Wing crocks. I know they are Red Wing they all have the logo stamped on them. I have a 30gal and 2, 15gallons. The 30 has a hairline crack about a foot long on the side(not going through any stamps or writing)and a patent 1915 on it. One of the 15gal is also 1915 same Red Wing on the front and same year..1915. these both have handles. the 15 has no cracks. The OTHER 15 has no date but does have the Red Wing union stoneware co stamp. Instead of the red wing it has blue leaves on it..this one is in mint cond no cracks/chips at all and no handles.
I was wondering if you could tell me about these and maybe a rough estimate of when the one with no date may have been made?? I dont think there could have been a date because everything else is perfect so I would be able to see even if it was worn off. They have been in my family a long time im not looking for prices to sell them or anything, I’m keeping them in the family, just curious is all! Thank you for your time! Thanks Jen

Question:
My Father was a Hamms Beer distributor from the late 1940s to the late 1950s. He received a Christmas present from Hamms that was a salad set with the Land of Sky Blue Waters scene painted on the pieces. I have the large bowl, 8 small salad bowls, a pitcher and the tall salt/pepper set. As these have always been stored all are in excellent condition. What would be the approximate value of this set? Thank you, Sandy Rowland

Provincialware Bean Pot
Question:
I will forward a photo if you are unable to answer my question without one. I have a double handle bean pot. Glazed on the inside and marked on the outside "RED WING PROVINCIAL WARE" AND THE NUMBER 29. I purchased this someforty-five years ago and have enjoyed using it in the kitchen to hold utensils. A friend asked me about the pot and suggested I get in touch with someone who may know about it. It seems to be much less fancy than the variou examples I have seen of Red Wing Pottery on your web site. Please accept my grateful Thanks in Advance! Virginia

Red Wing 5 Gallon & Western 6 Gallon
Question:
Good Day! My mother has a crock with a white finish. It has bails with black wooden handles. The information stenciled on it is: Redwing Potteries 5 (I assume meaning 5 gallon) [An image of a red wing] Patented Dec 21, 1915 (this appears up near the lip of the crock)
She also has another crock: The name Western Stoneware Co. is stencilled inside an image of a maple leaf. It has a 6 on it. It does not have bails or handles, but also has the standard white finish. Do you think either off these items has any particular value, or are they "common as dirt?" Thanks for the help. Linda Murken
