Red Wing teapot
Question:
I have a "Red Wing Art Pottery" jug with a cap on the spout that has a cork afixed to the cap. The piece itself looks like a teapot. Its approximately 6" tall and 7-1/2" wide. The color is a black shiny appearance. Do you have any idea of its age or value? Thank you in advance! Dorothy
Answer: Dorothy, it’s from the late 30′s, shape #50. A ball jug, as we call them. having the cap helps, they go missing a lot of the time. value around 65.00 or so. thanks, steve n rose

follow up to the 10 gallon watercooler
Question:
10 Gallon Water Cooler…. Thanks Al for the evaluation. The lid is a reproduction done by Willis Jones, Beatrice, NE made several years ago. It has two blue bands and a thumb print to identify that it is not original. The oval at the bottom is not a Redwing logo as it reads San Antonio Southwest Seating Company which I have been told makes it one of a kind. Does that change the value? Thanks again for your time.

8 Gallon stoneware
Question:
I came across an 8-gallon crock w/ rusty metal handles. It has a glazed design over the original markings of Thanksgiving-looking design. The outside glazed has been chipped away to reveal gray pottery underneath and a big number 8 in blue print. There is also the words near the top rim that show through the outer glaze that say Patented in 1916. What kind of pottery is this and what is the value?

30 gallon double birch leave with Union Stoneware Oval
Question:
Hi there! I found a crock in my Grandma’s chicken house and was wondering what you could tell me about it. I asked her about it and she said it was inherited from one side of the family or the other. She said she used it to make pickles in. She will be 84 in 2 weeks. It is VERY heavy, no cracks at all, no handles or drains as I see some crocks do have them. But it seems to be in perfect condition with a little cleaning. I do have a close up picture of the marking that says RED WING UNION(?) STONEWARE CO RED WING-MINN. What can you tell me about it??
