Brother’s Crock Collection
Question:
My brother has 3 Red Wing Crocks that he would like to find out more informtion a the value of. The first one —has a # 2 on it, says Red Wing and 4" wing, no chips or cracks, clear not faded markings, Second one—blue number 10 (3" in size) , 5" red wing, underneathe is a slightly faded seal that says, "Red Wing, line underneathe then, Union Stoneware Company with a line underneathe, Red Wing Minn. all in an oval shape (2 1/4 " in size). Wood handles with wire that goes through the stone crock. Inside small 1/2" chip by rim. From the front, there is a 4" hairline crack but it does not go through to the inside otherwise it is in good condition and hold liquid. There is also by the handle "patent applied for". The number is nice and clear, the red wing is clear, the seal is as mentioned about only slightly faded. Third crock—- very dark blue #10 (the number about 3" in size, slightly faded 4" red wing underneathe, underneathe that a slightly faded seal. The seal has the same information as the one mentioned above and is the same size. Up just below the rim, before the handle (wooded & wire handles through the crock) it says patented Dec. 21 st (with a line below the st) 1915 (this is in dark blue letter and about 2" long) A hairline crack towards the inside bottom. Small chip on the top rim. Thanks for your help, my brother is really interested in finding out more about these items. Thank you, Carla Friedrich cfriedrich1@wi.rr.com
