Red Wing Planter 202, inital BB

Question:
I have a Red Wing Planter that belonged to my grandmother. (see Photo) The planter is about 7 inch tall and 8 inch diameter. Grape vine pattern. Bottom is stampled Red Wing USA 308 and the initials BB. I can not seem to find one like this anywhere and would like to know more about it and its potential value.

Answre: Hello

this shape dates around 1966. it could be a hobby shop item, some molds were used by other places after the factory was closed. The glaze doesn’t appear to be red wing, so I think this is the case. value is around 30.00 or so. thanks, steve n rose

Red Wing 1218 and 1012, Magnolia Line

Question:
I have a redwing pitcher and vase I just picked up and I would like to know everything about them. The pitcher is 7" by 4" and the vase is 8-1/2" by 5". There is a thin stress crack on the top of the pitchers handle where it meets the body and there is some slight wear on the bottom of the vase. Both also have a purple patina around the designs. The bottom the the vase says-top to bottom-(1218 Red Wing USA) and the pitcher says (Red Wing USA 1012). If you could tell me when they were made and what they are valued at, that would be great thanks. Brad

Elk Crock or Stag Crock – Lobby or Sand Jar

Question:
Hi, My wife and I have a Elk Crock or Stag Crock, shows a picture of Doe with it, and some pine trees forest.. Neat looking old crock. Its really got some great deep detail, looks really super nice. No cracks or chips anywhere . The measurements are 15 inches tall and 12 inches across the top. Can you tell us more about the crock? Thanks. Carmella

Answer: Hi Carmella

Red Wing did make the Stag/Doe sand jar, from the brushed ware line, circa 1930. The only problem is, another company made them as well. Unless it’s marked on lthe bottom, it’s pretty hard to tell who made what. Unmarked, value around 250.00, marked around 400.00. thanks, steve n rose

question from: shartwig@crosspaths.net

Question:
I have some additional information on the description of the 20 gallon Red Wing crock which I sent in a previous e-mail a few minutes ago. I consulted your page on the different type of emblems which appeared on the Red Wing crocks and determined that the top horizontal line on this crock begins under the letter"E" in "Red Wing". Given this emblem I assume the crock was manufactured sometime during the 1930s.

20 gallon Red Wing Crock

Question:
I have a zink glazed 20 gallon Red Wing crock with the brown Red Wing Emblem enblazed on the side. The crock is in mint condition with no cracks or chip marks. I have had the crock for approximately 30-32 years. I don’t know the age of the crock. Could one of your experts please provide a rough estimate of it’s value? I also have a 15 gallon zinc glazed crock with a picture of a blue crown emblazoned on the side. I also have the center knob crock cover for it. Could one of your experts please give me an estimated value? Thbak you for yor consideration of this request. John
