Question:
Hi, a friend has a charles Murphy piece M-1565.It is fleck nile blue. Is this considered a vase or pitcher? It looks like a water pitcher to me. Also, is there any other pieces that should go with it? Thanks for this service, Joanne
Answer: Hi Joanne
it is a pitcher form, but it’s considered art pottery, not dinnerware. It really doesn’t belong with any other shapes, just part of a general line, circa 1957. Va;lue is around 50.00 or so. thanks, steve n rose

I was recently cleaning out some of my mother’s things and came across some very old Red Wing pottery pieces. It contains two five-piece candy dish sets that I remember seeing at my grandfather’s home when I was little. The printing on the bottoms of the candy dish sets says "1380 Red Wing USA". In addition to the previously mentioned sets, there was also one large matching bowl. The printing on the bottom of the bowl is "278 Red Wing USA". As you will see in the attached picture they appear to be in very good condition. Only one of the small pieces of one candy set appears to have been cracked and subsequently repaired. Other than that, they appear to be in perfect condition. Can you please shed some light on the potential value/interest in a set like this? Thank you in advance your help. Cheryl Dougherty
I have a box with pears and birds on it and am unsure if it is a cigarette box or a playing card box. it is marked Red Wing on the bottom and it is cool. I was wondering what it is and what it is worth Bob
I purchased this vase recently and wanted to know it’s value. The bottom says Red Wing 820 and it is about 12 inches tall. It is pink inside and lt blue outside. I have seen smaller vases that have the same shape but never this size. Do you know what year it may have been made? Helen
I am looking for any information you may have and value for an Red Wing Art Pottery vase my wife just inherited from her mother. It has a number stamped on the bottom, 1103, along with "Red Wing USA". Outside is beige, the inside is a green. There are reddish-brown leaves on the outside as accents. A partial silver sticker with red lettering is on the side of the vase. The vase stands 8 inches tall and the mouth is 4.5 inches wide. Charles
Hello. Have a flower pot with attached underplate. Has a light green glaze, stands 5-3/4" H, 6-3/8" at flared top, and weighs 3-1/2 lbs. 2 drain holes. Marked USA (no periods) under the base. Stripes and flowers repeated all around. A helpful ebayer thought mb RW. Any help appeciated. Thanks. Joe
I picked up what looks like the lower tray for a planter. It’s marked Red Wing USA 940 that stands proud from the bottom. It is 2 1/4" high with a 10 1/2′ diameter. It’s baby blue in color with a grey glazed upper edge. The sides of this round tray alternates colors in 3/8" stripes. The colors are grey, the base light blue, brighter blue then it repeats all the way around. What year was this made and what is the approximate value? Mark
