Green Vase with lion’s head on side

Question:
I have a large vase the I found in a relative’s barn. she collected a lot of early American pottery and this is the last piece in the collection that I have. I have been trying to identify it for years and came up with nothing. It has a rough texture like stucco on the outside. It is very uneven and looks to be hand made. It has two lion’s head handles on it, and an 11a marked on the bottom. Any information would help. The closest vase I found like this was at the 2002 Wisconsin pottery show web site. Adam

Answer: Hi Adam

I wish I could be of more help, but I don’t know who made this vase. thanks, steve n rose

I came across a gopher on a football like the one on page 132 of the Red Wing Collectibles values updated 2008. It is about 2 1/2 inches tall and at it widest point about 3 inches the marking on the bottom is R. W. POTTERIES 1939 RED WING MINN. On the front it has a partial label that I can make out saying Rochester Minn. which I was not sure if the label is orginal or if some attached it. Is this a red wing piece and can someone tell me more about it? Thanks Cliff
