Question:
I am curious to find out age and value of a pair of vases. Dark green inside and the outside looks like green was brushed over beige/clay color w/a pansy-leaf design. Also, there’s like an upside down tulip pattern around the top of the vase. I’m sorry I can’t send a picture. The bottom is stamped in blue Red Wing Union Stoneware Co. Red Wing, Minn. and has the #10 marked in the bottom. thanks for your help!

Crackle Torquoise Vase
Question: {mosimage}
Hi Red Wing Collectors, This vase was passed to me from my grandmother. From my research, I believe it is from the Crackle Turquoise designs by Murphy. Yes? Approximately what year would it be from and what is it’s value? It’s been loved and held many flowers over the years, although there are no cracks or chips. Thanks! Elizabeth
Answer: {mosimage}
You are most likely correct that the glaze is crackle turquoise with a bronze interior, however I can not confirm the designer was Charles Murphy. There are 3 other similarly designed bowls and vases. Production of the piece started around 1947, which is a timeframe where both Charles Murphy and Belle Kogan produced original designs for Red Wing. The approximate value is $20-$30. SteveNRose

Vase #1175
Question:
I have located a vase with a standing woman in the center in a turquoise dress holding a flower. On either side of the woman are two tall brown round columns that are open (to hold flowers I assume) the total height is approximately 14" and the width is about 10" on an oval base.The piece is marked Redwing. It appears to be a Charles Murphy Englobe turquoise figure but I do not seem to find one that is the same shape. I got it at an estate sale and am trying to locate a value. Christine
Answer:
You are correct that the item you have is one of the engobe pieces that is attributed to Charles Murphy as the designer. Your vase is number 1175 and as an estimated value of $300-$400, depending on condition. SteveNRose

Red Wing Vases 157
Question:
Curious about the age and value of this pair of Red Wing vases. They are about 15\" tall, and 6 3/4\" wide at the handle. They are ink stamped with the company name and have molded number 157 in the bottom. They are dark, teal green and have bellflowers raised in the mold and white against the green. Two handles flush with the opening of the top. Mottled green and ivory shoulder between the top and bottom of the handles. They are tapered and faceted. Imperfections in the glaze and color where the design appears to end and begin again. Many thanks.
