Oil Lamp

Question:
My mother has an oil lamp that may be a "redwing". It is gray with 4 leaf clovers on the bowl. The bowl & base is one piece & very hard in strength. If you could give us some information on this it would be greatly appreciated or direct us to someone that could give us some answers. This is thought to pre-date civil war. Thanks so much

Answer: Hi, any Red Wing item would have been made after the civil war. I don’t know of any Red Wing shapes with the 4 leaf clover. Early American stone is always in demand. There are some books on Eastern and blue & white stoneware, they may be of more help. thanks, steve n rose
