Red Wing B1402 planter

Question:
Hello – another piece I found in my mother’s cupboard – an oval shaped basket, approx 10 inches long by 5 inches high. Color is a pale green, shiny glaze, excellent condition. Number on the bottom reads: B1402. Thank you for your help!

Red Wing Figural 1336, deer shaped planter

Question:
Hi – recently cleaned out my mother’s cupboards in preparation for an estate sale, and found this piece: yellow deer, approximately 6 inches long by 6 inches high at the head, yellow color, shiny glaze. The imprinted number on the bottom reads 1336. Any information about year would be helpful. Thank you.

5 pottery birds

Question:
Hello – I have five pottery birds that I wonder if they are by Red Wing (see photo). Two have a red glaze, two black, and one a dark green. They have a slot on the bottom as though they were meant to sit on a flower pot. There are no markings. They measure about 2 1/2" long. Thank you for your time.

Red Wing 801

Question:
my parents have a red wing ashtray cream colored which is marked xx801 and is 10 inches in diameter. We can’t find one anywhere on the Internet and were wondering when it was made and what it is worth. Thanks for any advice

Answer: There is an 801, from 1963, but it’s a chip/dip piece triangular in shape, I don’t think that’s what you have. A pic would be great, Red Wing made hundreds of ashtrays. thanks, steve n rose

Magnolia vase 1215

Question:
Yes, this was handed down from my mother it has on the bottom red wing 1215, not stamped on but written on prior to firing. The Vase is 10 "tall and a creamy color inside and out and a lovely flower on the front. The vase is in beautiful condition having lived in a box for about 25 years. Any information you can provide is appreciated,age, value etc. Thank you

Divided Tray, unmarked

Question:
I recently purchased this dish. While it isn’t marked, it certainly looks like Red Wing. It is over 12" long and about 6" across the widest part. It is glazed white, has ridges on the inside and is divided. I would appreciate any information you can provide. Thank you! Vickie

Red Wing B2003

Question:
I have a red wing pottery vase, approx. 10" tall, deep red color, with a bird of paradise in gold on the front. It has B2003 on the bottom, and I can find no info on this piece. What can you tell me about when it was made, and what value it might have?

Answer: This is a piece from the Tropicana line, 1950. The gold may have been added later, I don’t think that’s from the factory. Still worth around 45.00 or so. thanks, steve n rose

Red Wing 1162

Question:
I have a vase that is about 12 inches tall in excellent condition. The bottom of the vase has the number 1162 Red Wing USA. It also has a gold stamp in the shape of a castle. It is decorated with red flowers painted on it with black and green leaves. It also has large green leaves raised up all over the vase. It has two handles in the shape of leaves.

Answer: Hello, this vase is from the early 40′s. there are a few shapes similiar, with different glaze colors on the leaves. The sticker is a tall version of the Red Wing trademark. Value si around 65.00 or so. thanks, steve n rose

Red Wing 891

Question:
I have one medium blue colored vase that is approx. 7 inches tall. It has little looped handles on both sides, and small faded white spots…that look something like the old "pac-man" symbol! It is in perfect condition and has the markings on the bottom RED WING 891. The scalloped opening at he top is approx. three and a half inches wide. We found it the other day in a old shop, as my wife thinks she wants to start collecting this named brand item. We don’t have anyway to send a picture,sorry

Answer: Welcome to Red Wing collecting! The vase dates to the late 1930′s. The glaze is called dutch blue, it has a blue background white "spots". Red Wing made more shapes than I can count, and is all over the country. Value si around 65.00. thanks, steve n rose
