Question:
Can you tell me anything about this 5 gallon churn? I don’t know whether it’s from Red Wing or not — I don’t see any markings other than on the front. I also don’t know whether or not I should remove it from the base, so I haven’t. Thanks for your help!

Answer: Your 5 gallon salt glazed churn is not red wing. I really do not know who the manufacturer would be and with out a signature, it makes it very difficult to identify. It looks like someone rigged a mechanical churning device to make churning butter a little quicker and easier. I would see no problem in removing it from the stand and taking all the extra hardware off of the top of the churn in order to bring it back to it’s orginal condition. It would be much more attractive to just view the churn itself. Al Kohlman
