Question:
Recently I purchased a white pitcher at an estate sale and was wondering if it’s Red Wing. It’s about 9in tall and the only markings is "Sioux Falls Milk Foundation" printed on the bottom. There is also a star and "USA" stamped into the clay. The other item is a Rum Rill pitcher. It has the Rum Rill stamp along with 547. Thank you
Answer: The Sioux Fall pitcher was not made by Red Wing. Sorry, I do not know the maker of this pitcher.
The orange RumRill 547 pitcher was made by Red Wing in the mid to late 1930s. Red Wing had a business relationship with George RumRill and made many items marked RumRill, including this 547 pitcher. This pitcher can also be found marked Red Wing 547 as part of the Gypsy Trail dinnerware line.
