Question:
I acquired this little (3 1/2" tall) pitcher years back. I put it down and went back to it 3 times before I just happened to get the right angle of sunlight on it to see RED WING stamped on the bottom. It is nearly obscured by the glaze. I’ve been calling it saffronware but I\’m not sure. BTW, I paid 50 cents for it… If you can help, I’d appreciate it. Thank you.

Answer:

This certainly appears to be a Gypsy Trail dinnerware piece, but I cannot determine any more than that. From the photo provided and the description, this could be one of several small pitchers or creamers in the Gypsy Trail line. A photo of the side of the piece would help provide further identification. It’s defnitely not Saffronware, which is a stoneware glaze. For 50 cents you found a bargain.
