Question:
I recently acquired this coffee pot. I’m not too sure of the pattern although I think it’s Red Wing Quartette in chartreuse. If you could verify that and let me know an approximate age and value I\’d be grateful! Thanks. Bill H.

Answer: Bill, you are correct. Your photo shows a Quartette covered beverage server in the chartreuse color. This same server with a white cover would go with several Concord patterns, including Magnolia and Lotus. But the chartreuse cover makes it a Quartette server.

Quartette was the only Concord pattern with no handpainted pieces. All Quartette items, including the plates, bowls and covers, were a solid color. The name Quartette refers to the four available colors: Chartreuse, Mulberry, Ming Green and Copper Glow. A buyer could purchase a set of Quartette all in a single color or could mix and match pieces in any of the four colors as desired, much like the Gypsy Trail and Town & Country patterns.

Quartette was introduced in 1951 and was discontinued in 1956. A chartreuse Quartette beverage server with cover in excellent condition would be worth $50 to $75.
