Question:
I have this cow and calf figurine and am wondering if it is Redwing. I saw a double one in the antique weekly that looks simular. It is 5" tall 3 1/2" wide and 4 1/2" tall. No mark on the bottom. In very good condition except for one horn is gone. Color is a deep browm . I was wondering if it is a redwing figurine ,if it has any value with the horn gone? Would appreciate any information that you can give me. Rose
Answer: Rose, nice cow & calf. The cow & calf figurines were manufactured by both Red Wing Stoneware Company and the Western Stoneware Company. Without the figurines being signed, it is extremely hard if not impossible to say which company manufactured them. Either way, they are prized by collectors. Your cow and calf figurine with with the horn missing from the cow would still hold a value close to $1000. The double cow and calf figurine you seen in the antique weekly is extremely rare and could very well be a one of a kind. Al Kohlman
