Red Wing USA M-5008 and two side pieces, possible hobby shop

Question:
Hello, I have a Red Wing Pedestal Bowl and two matching candlesticks. The pedestal bowl is about 8" high and 10" in diameter and has "Red Wing USA M-5008" on the bottom. The two candlesitcks are slightly shorter and have "Ann 71" in cursive etched in the bottom. They are cream colored with flowers and doves on them which are very intricate and raised. Please see the attached picture. I am assuming they are from 1971 based on the etching in the bottom of the candlesticks. Could you let me know what you know about them and what their value may be? Thank you. Steve

Answer: Hi

the M5008 shape I have in the book looks nothing like the ones in the pic. It is much simpler, with hardly any decoration. I’m not sure what to make of these, unless they are hobby shop items, which I assume they are. The plant closed in 1967, so anything made after that would be done by someone else. The glaze doesn’t match anything I have seen either. Nice looking items, but they weren’t made by red wing. I’m not sure what to give you for a value. thanks, steve n rose
