Red Wing Maple Leaf ashtray, shape 428

Question:
Hi, I got this dish from my uncles estate. It measures 14 1/4 inches long and approx. 8 inches at its widest. It has a maroon bottom and looks like its fading at the edges although that could be the way it was made since the fading is uniform all the way around the lip. Any help you can give me as to value, and rarity would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Rod

Question:
Hi, My redwing vase has two numbers on the bottom – 212, and 118 9or is it read 811?) It has a green finish inside, but the outside is rough textured all around, except for a smooth oval area where roses have been painted. The outside rough part is kind of a cream color. I’m sorry I couldn’t include a picture. It has no chips or cracks. Thank you, Frank Fant

Answer: Hi Frank

I think you have an 1189, it dates to around 1943. it has kind of a floral pattern, usually done in antiqued ivory glaze. Value is around 30.00. thanks, steve n rose

Red Wing dinnerware- need pattern information

Question:
My mom purchsed a set of dishes from a garage sale. The owner found them in their attic and thought they were ugly. My mom paid $20 for the box. They are difficult to explain. When she unpacks, if they sound like true red wing pottery, she will take pictures. Some have "RED WING USA" on the bottom. It is part of the dish. It is not printed on. Some have printed information. The piece I am holding says, "RED WING HAND PAINTED OVENPROOF U.S.A. 119". One piece has "RED WING HAND PAINTED" printed inside a pair of wings, then below it "USA 104". All of the bowls have a place to hold them, but it’s not a handle. The dishes have a unique shape, which is why she bought them. If the information on the bottom sounds like they may be worth investigating I will take pics for her. Most of the pieces are numbered are few have chips. She likes antiques and unusual items, but she does not care to investigate them. I have found that a few of her "finds" needed more TLC than she was giving them. Thank you for your time, Tana
