Question:
I have a set of quails, blue and brown. The large one has small holes to hold toothpicks and the two small ones are salt and pepper. Pristine condition. I have the original box that they came in. Can you tell me about them. they were my mom’s. Thanks Debbie

Answer:
Your bird-shaped hors d’oeuvres holder and salt & pepper shakers are from the popular Bob White dinnerware pattern. These pieces were introduced in 1957 and made until the Potteries closed in 1967. Many of these sets were sold and they are quite common today. In fact the original box is probably worth as much as the birds. In excellent condition the three bird pieces are worth $40-50. Adding an original box with clear markings and in undamaged condition would probably double the value.
