Question:
Larry Thanks for the advise on the iris that is painted. It is a stoneware like the ones on page 93 of your 1983 book. I did take a razor blade and lightly scrape after a paint "expert" told me it was enamel base paint. After I got some of it off it was more of a deep brown or similar to the ones in the book. I will try to remove all of the paint and hope no damage is caused. The inside was also painted so will have to take some time. I think the person who painted it was into ceramics as the paint was smooth but not very stable. thanks again. Joe

Red Wing 928 and 929
Question:
I aquired two pieces of Redwing #’s 928 & 929. My question is do the 2 pieces belong together or are they seperate flower pots? They fit together perfectly. Also, do you have any idea of what they are worth and the age of the pieces. Thanks, Cindy
Answer: Hi Cindy, yes, and yes! They were meant to be used as you show, or they could be seperate items as well. They are from around 1965, decorator planters. Value is around 90.00 for both. thanks, steve n rose

Question:
I inhereted a Old Jug, past down from many generations (Quebec/Vermont Border). It has a hand writting underneath the jug but written before the jar was fired up. It says "Red Wing Minnesota Stoneware Co." It has a small chip and some natural wear. It has no number on it and no design. (11"H x 7"D) Can you date and value my piece. Thank you in advance. Lison
