Red Wing Nokomis Lamp

Question:
At first I thought this lamp was a converted vase, but it appears as though it was made to be a lamp. I previously sent to you the picture of a vase with the same mold number. What is curious about this piece is that the vase has a concave top and this one was made with a convex top – strange because it appears to have the same mold number. The words Red Wing are not shown on this piece, but the mold number is very clear. There is no damage at all. Thank you for any help you can give on the valuation of this item.

Answer: This is just the variation of the #200 mold, used to make lamp bases. A lot of the molds had to have the top adjusted so a "stem" would fit. Not as many collectors do lamps, but this is still a very good item. Value around 500.00 thanks, steve n rose

Gypsy Trail coffee server

Question:
I have this Red Wing Coffee pot (I think!). It is marked Red Wing Potteries on the bottom with a star in the center. I haven’t seen any reference to this marking anywhere. The color is a dark teal. The pictures come out either too dark (no flash) or too light (with flash). Can you give me some information on this piece including a price range??? Thank you, Julie

Red Wing 806, Nokomis

Question:
This item sat in my grandmother’s house for as long as I can remember and she has been dead for nearly 50 years. The vase is 10 inches wide and approximately 9 inches tall. There is tiny red print on the bottom that says Red Wing with a mold number of 806. The only damage to the piece is a triangle that appears to have been cut rather than broken from the lip. Thank you so much for your help.

Answer: this is shape #200, from the early 30′s. The glaze is called "nokomis", very desireable shape and glaze. The damage will hurt it’s value quite a bit. Still, it may bring around 150+. thanks, steve n rose

Concord Fruit pattern

Question:
We have the following pieces which I was able to id from photos on your site as part of the Concord Fruit line. I am trying to figure out what to do with them as we don’t want them. I am willing to consider donating them, if there is a museum or organization that would want them. Or if there is a collector who might be interested in them, that would be great. I’m not interested in selling them piece by piece on ebay. Are any particularly rare or valuable? Any comments or suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Sally

Reed Plates — mold change?

Question:
Sometimes, when looking for Red Wing Reed plates, I see a plate with the apparent same pattern and colors but the plate seems to flair downward as it radiates out, like a petal. I have attached a photo – but this is difficult to see in a picture. Nevertheless, the plates are obviously made from a different mold. Were the Reed pattern molds changed at some point? Thank you Vonda
