Red Wing Marking?

Question:
Can you tell me what the black lettering or numbering means on the bottom of this piece. Do you believe it to factory? If so what does it stand for?

Answer: Hello, if they are under the glaze it would most likely be a test piece of some sort, usually a glaze test. If it comes off it , was just a price someone put there. thanks, steve n rose

10 Gallon Red Wing Crock

Question:
Hi, I recently came across a #10 Red Wing crock, photos of which are attached. The crock is in very good shape overall with rusting on the handles and some pit marks being the major problems. No cracks at all. The only usual thing (at least to me) is the addition of a imprint just below and before the right side handle which says, "patented December 21, 1915" Was this a common practice? Would you have an idea of the value? Thanks for looking. Tom Hess

Stoneware Lid 50 Gallon

Question:
I was wondering if you could help me value the lid I have that I believe is Red Wing. It is a 50 gallon pedal lid that I believe is salt glaze. It has the bail handle that is in excellent condition. It was my mothers and she just loved it! It is 24” in diameter and in great condition with only 2 very surface chips on the underside rim of the lid. It also has a straw mark that is impressed in the underside of the rim which I show in my picture. It is not a crack. The underside is not brown. Is it true that these lids are only salt glaze if they have the underside in the brown Albany slip? It has the number 50 impressed in the pedal design. Any help you could give me would be appreciated. I have the Red Wing catalogue but it says that the larger ones are hard to find. Thanks! Nina Goss mng825nc@aol.com, 716-773-1224.

Red Wing Apple Marmalade Jar

Question:
Hi! I have what I think is a Sugar Bowl made by Red Wing, but there really is no opening for a spoon… so maybe it is not a sugar bowl? I have not been able to find the dinnerline that it is from either, even with the book. I thought I may have seen a Larger Cookie Jar in the same design on EBay… so maybe this is part of a cannistor set perhaps? The piece is shaped like an Green Apple… although more turquoise in color. It stands about 3" to top of bowl and about 4" total. It is about 3" across in diameter too. Bottom is marker RED WING and there might be another mark that looks like a star perhaps…but could just be part of the mold too. If you could help identify this neat little bowl it would be greatly appreciated! THANKS!!
