Question:
Hello, I have a 20 gal Red Wing crock in great condition. We live in Wisconsin and my husband insists on keeping this outside on the front porch. I say the crock needs to be displayed in the house to protect it from the elements and possible thieves. Where is the best place to keep this type of piece, in the house or outside? Thank you.

Question:
I’m just getting started with researching pottery and I don’t know much about it. Can you tell the date of production and your opinion of the value of this Western Stoneware Co. piece? It is 13 1/2" tall and 7 1/2" wide at the base. I think it might be missing a top piece? There are two indentions on the sides near the top where it looks like it had a snap lid. I did find where Western Stoneware Co is no longer in business, but that is about all I know. Any other information you can furnish would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Teri

Question:
I have a question regarding a red wing "Ice Water" cooler. It is a 3 gallon. Very nice markings, no cover. It does have small chips on the handles and a hairline on the inside bottom. The rim is in very good shape. It does not have the oval stamp at the bottom, and I didn’t see one on the inside or the bottom of the cooler, I am just wondering the significance of this. Thanks for your time. Jeremy.

1 gallon salt glazed crock

Question:
Hello, I just returned from estate sale of a 93 year old lady that collected crocks. I purchased a salt glazed crock with only a "1" on the crock. There were no other markings. It is golden/brown in color. The "1" is shaped somewhat like a nail. It is a beautiful piece. I was wondering what the history of it was. Thanks!!!! Jackie
