5 gallon red wing jug, beehive

Question:
Hello I have been given a 5 gallon redwing jug. The number 5 is placed at the top and is not a beehive jug, has the redwing wing but no stamp under it. I am just wondering what year it was made and what it might be worth. All of my other redwing pottery has the stamp on it which I believe means it was made after 1915. The jug is in good condtion and does not have any cracks. I Thanks for your time! GretchenAnderson

Red Wing 1563, 10 inch

Question:
This vase was left in a house my parents owned during the late ’70′s in Tuxedo Park, NY previously belonging to Alfred E. Loomis. The marking on the bottom says Red Wing 1563 #10. The interior is a light green color (pictures attached). It is in perfect condition – no chips or cracks. I was curious to know the approximate date it was made and what the value is. Thank you for your time and consideration. Beth Beale 201-280-3443

Answer: Hi Beth,

this vase is from around 1957, it came in 3 sizes, with this being the smallest. Value is around 40.00 or so. thanks, steve n rose

Red Wing 797, 899 or 892

Question:
I found a couple pieces labeled Red Wing while cleaning out my mothers garage and I am wondering what the story and value is behind them. Two of the pieces (in the first picture) are labeled on the bottom REDWING USA 797 (ORANGE VASE) and the other is RED WING USA 899 OR 892, it’s hard to tell (FAN VASE). The other two pieces in the second picture do not have any labels on the bottom except USA but they were in the same box labeled RED WING, so I thought I’d give it a shot. Thank you for you help, I look forward to hearing back from you!

Answer: Hello

the pink fan vase, #892, was designed in 1939, and made for many years, a very popular shape. Value around 30.00 or so. The tall orange one, #797 is from the prismatique line, circa 1962. Value is around 90.00 or so on that one.

The other two I don’t think are Red Wing, the shapes aren’t familiar to me. Hope this helps, thanks, steve n rose

6 inch and 7 inch spongeware panel bowls

Question:
Dear Al, I’ve recently come across 2 more sponge bowls exactly like the 5" I asked you about. One is 6 1/2" and the other is 7 1/2". The colors are the same and they are both paneled and in mint condition. Could you please advise me on what they’re worth? I don’t have photo’s but you can look at my recent question and the only difference is the lip diameter which I mentioned above. Thank you.
