Question:
Trying to identify this bowl. It does have a glaze on most of the outside but not all. A band around the middle is not glazed. The bowl is 10.5" x 5". There is a marking on the bottom but can’t make out what it is. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The top of the bowl has black markings that are from my grandfather using to sharping knives. JIm

Answer: Jim, you have what is called a milk pan. These milk pans were produced by every stoneware company in the mid-west and in large quanities. I could be Red Wing, Western or another mid-western stoneware company. Not being marked well enough to read and no advertising will keep the the value quite low. Maybe $20 to $25. Al Kohlman
