Question:
Hello again, I am submitting photo of 3 different crocks. A #10 crock with no visible cracks. A #3 crock with a crack on the bottom. Both with leaves and no oval stamp. And lastly a #6 crock with the red wing, and some chipping but no visible cracks. I was curious about the significance between the leaves and wing decoration, as well as the lack of oval. Does this hinder age identification? Again I’d appreciate any information regarding age and value. Thanks again I appreciate the help. Mindi

Answer: Mindi, those crocks with leaves are older than those with Red Wings. The crocks without the ovals are said to have been produced for the Sears & Roebuck Company. Collectors prefer ovals on there pieces and therefore those with ovals have a higher value. 10 gallon birch leaf crock has a value between $70 & $100. The 3 gallon with crack in bottom $25 to $30 and the 6 gallon with the chips, $60 to $80. Al Kohlman
