Question:
Hellow. My wife and I volunteer at a resale shop and are "in charge" of the antique/collectable" section. Recently a donation came in consisting of 7 spongeware bowls. Each bowl has 6 panels and they have colors of blue and orange. The bowls are not marked and have no cracks or chips. The smallest bowls measures 5" in diameter at the top, the largest 11". We can provide jpgs is needed. Might these be Red Wing? Value" All proceeds from this resale shop go to help support a local high school. Thanks for any help you might be able to provide. Wally
Answer: Wally, a perfect set of Red Wing panel bowls from 5" to 11" has a value around $1300 give or take a few hundred. The 5" bowl has the greatest value. $550 to $600, then the 11" bowl $200 to $250. Price is reflected by how perfect the bowls and how dark the sponging. If the nest of bowls all have the same or close to the same type or matching sponging (same dark colors, even sponging & same amount of rust red to blue coloring) then the value goes to the higher range.
