Question:
i have a 15 gallon Red Wing stoneware crock that has a faucet near the base and a filler pipe near the top which has what looks like a stopcock attached that would shut off the water supply, both attachments are mounted thru holes which are glazed so i know they were not drilled after glazing. My question is "what was it made for?" Thanks for your help, Jim
Answer: Jim, your 15 gallon Red Wing crock with the spigot hole on the bottom and the other on the side at the top was produced for Chemical plants, dairies and hardware stores. They were use to store and dispense chemicals. Al Kohlman
