Question:
I have a union stoneware mixing bowl in real good condition and on the bottom it reads, red wing union stoneware, red wing, minn. What can you tell me about it. Thank you Nina
Answer: Nina, your Red Wing bowl is called a milk pan. Red Wing and the Minnesota Stoneware Companies began producing these milk pans in 1906 or even a little earlier and appeared in every stoneware catalog Red Wing produced. So there are a large number of them out there. They can be found in white, brown or blue colors. Sizes can range for 4 3/4 inches to 15 1/2". If signed and in mint condition, these bowls can range in value from $30 to $100 with blue being the most sought after. Al Kohlman
