What is the value of the 20 gallon Union crock pictured. Do the"double-double" leaves and off center oval add any value? The crock has a great ring… the crock has no chips but somehow a very very tight 6 inch hairline has developed. Should I do something to guard against the hairline growing? Thanks. Chuck

Answer: Chuck, the off center oval would hurt the value of this piece rather than increase it. Collectors on these pieces like to see nice dark, clear and balanced decorations. Value with the 6 inch hairline would be around $150. You can try and get some liquid super glue into the hairline to better stop it from spreading. Al Kohlman
