Question:
I’d like to verify that this 5 gallon Butterfly Crock is by Red Wing and would also like an approximate value. It measures approx. 12 1/2" high and has a 12" bottom diameter. There are two incised lines around the top. The color is strong. There is an approx. 2 1/2" small hairline on the back starting at the bottom and going up and some loss of blue on the left side of the flower and in the middle of the butterfly. Thanks. Kathy

Answer: Kathy sorry to say, but your 5 gallon salt glazed butterfly crock is not Red Wing. It is a mid-western piece, most likely Ohio. Not being Red Wing, I just have no idea of it’s value. Sorry. Al Kohlman
