Question:
what is the value of 5 gal jug with wing marking in red on side, a fancy 5 marking in blue on side, and oval marking that reads "red wing_potteries, inc._red wing minn." in blue? Also there is a "6" on the neck in blue, what does this mean? Does the oval marking mean it was made between 1936 and 1967? Thanks, I’m just a beginner trying to learn. There is one small chip at base. Thanks Bruce
Answer: Bruce, the value on your 5 gallon Red Wing shoulder jug is between $50 & $65. This is the later shoulder jug and was manufactured between 1936 & 1947. 1947 is when stoneware production ceased. Hope this helps. Al Kohlman
