Question:
I have recently purchased a Red Wing jug at a yard sale. It has the number"3"(I’m assuming it means 3 gallon)below the "3" is a red wing stamp and below that is a blue oval stamp reading "Red Wing /Union Stoneware Co./ Red Wing, Minn. It is a pale grayish white stoneware with a single molded handle that starts at the neck and goes to the ridged shoulder of the jug. It has one small chip in the shoulder, otherwise it is in great condition. Thanks Patty
Answer: Patty, your are correct on the gallon-age. You have a 3 gallon Red Wing shoulder jug that was produced between 1917 & 1930. Value on your jug in today’s market is around $50. Al Kohlman
