Question:
I have a Redwing devil egg platter with lid It’s 16 1/2ins. x 11ins. The mark on the bottom is redwing hand painted 282(in the wing symbol). I would like to know what pattern it is and it’s value if any. It has a small chip on the underside that is about 1/2in. long. Thank you Debbie

Answer: The name of the pattern is Iris and it was made in the early 1950s. Iris is a desirable pattern and the egg plate is quite difficult to find. This piece would be of interest to collectors of the Iris dinnerware pattern as well as to egg plate collectors. In mint condition it would be worth about $150 to $175. The chip will reduce the value by 25%, maybe more depending on the location and visibility of the chip.
