Question:
I have a bean pot that belonged to my grandmother. I have included a picture. It is approx. 5 1/4" wide at the top and has a "1/2 and it’s either an 8 or a B" stamped on the top of the lid. It’s approx. 6" tall. I was wondering what the value of this is and where it came from. It does seem to have a glaze and is tan at the bottom and brown on top with a wire handle. Thank you. Carmel Suhr
Answer: The bean pot appears to be made by Red Wing. Some of them were marked Red Wing on the bottom, but many are not. Since it was grandma’s this item is probably priceless to you! Market value, unsigned, would be about $35.
