Question:
I bought this #3 birch leaf churn recently. It has its original lid and dasher. There are no chips or cracks on the churn or on the lid. There is a small area on the left side of the Union oval that the glazing has been scraped off. The size of the churn is 13 1/4" tall and 9 1/4" wide at the top rim. How old is this churn? What would be the approximate value? It also came with an old wood lid, that I was told was used when they churned butter. The top of the wood lid is bowl shaped. Thank you, Bob

ANSWER: Your churn with not chips or cracks has an approximate value of $300-350. The churn came with a stoneware lid, the wood lid is not original. The decoration on the churn is called a birch leaf. It was manufactured in the early 1900’s.
