Question:
I acquired this #4 tornado crock. Is this crock a Red Wing? There are no chips or cracks, but the elephant ear handles have rough spots. There are a few stains. The size is 11 1/2" tall and 11" wide at the top rim. How old is this crock? What would be the approximate value? Thanks, Susan

ANSWER:
The crock is not Red Wing. The color (clay) is not typical of Red Wing products. The crock is very old, probably made in the 1880’s or 1890’s. The stains would lower the value somewhat. The approximate value would be $90 tp $100.
