hey al — here is a picture of the handle of the five gallon bee sting jug we sent you a question on earlier this week. thanks for your time – appreciate the same. marc

 

Answer: Marc, thank you for the photo. In your photo where the back of the handle attaches to the jug is not a chararistic attachment of Red Wing. When Red Wing potters attached the handle to the jugs, the method they used was to place both thumbs at the base of the hand and pull away. Looking at your handle you can see where a potter pushed a finger or thumb in the center of the base and then both sides as well to secure it to the jug. For this reason, I am quite sure your jug is not Red wing. Hope his helps. Al Kohlman
