Greetings AL, just a quick question pertaining to 5 GL Shoulder Jugs. How rare are they with "IMPERIAL" stamped underneath the gallonage inside a rectangular frame(4 Stamps on front total)? Also how would this affect the value compared to a regular 3 stamped 5 GL jug. Thank you in advance for your time and knowledge. -Paul

Answer: Paul the "IMPERIAL" stamped on your jug tells me that it was made for Canada. If you set your should jug next to a regular 5 gallon Red Wing shoulder jug, you will see that it is taller. In fact about 1 & 1/4 gallons taller. The Imperial jugs coming from Canada are much harder to find then the normal Red Wing shoulder jugs and it’s value will be about $50 to $100 higher depending on how well marked and someone needing one to complete a set.
