Question:
I have a jar that I was told is a brown North Star. I cannot find any specific markings. Nor can I find any information on the www.It is 5 1/2" tall and it is almost 4" in diameter. Can you tell me what it is and it’s value? Thanks!

Answer: Without some sort of markings to indicate that it was indeed produced by the North Star Company, no one would be able to make that statement. North Star crocks of this size do not look much different than those made by the Minnesota & Red Wing Stoneware Companies. The value of an Albany slip unmarked crock of this size would be in the $15 to $20 range. Al Kohlman
