Question:
I have a Red Wing barrel pitcher, page 93, Red Wing Stoneware Book. I also have 4 perfectly matching mugs. I have never seen the mugs shown in any publication. My question is, are the mugs unusual or rare and, if so, what is their approximate value each?

Answer: Barrel pitchers and mugs were made by many of the stoneware manufacturers. Unless your pitcher is signed or matches exactly to the one in your stoneware book, it’s not Red Wing. If you barrel pitcher is Red Wing, the mugs with it must match exactly to the pitcher. The value of the unsigned mugs would be in the $40 to $50 range if they are for sure Red Wing. Al Kohlman
