Question:
Any idea what pattern these might be? I have two identical hand-painted teacups with saucers. One saucer has the number "197" on the bottom, the other saucer has the number "127". They have what appears to be a monkey on them. Ron

ANSWER: Your cups and saucers are from the Montmartre dinnerware pattern, one of ten patterns made in the Futura shape. Montmartre was made for only a couple of years, 1957-1958. A French outdoor scene was the theme for this pattern. Larger pieces in the Montmartre pattern depicted an organ grinder, café, trees, and lamp post as well as the monkey and outdoor table setting shown on your items. The three digit numbers on the bottom of your saucers are merely stock or lot numbers; they do not identify the piece. Value for a Montmartre cup & saucer in excellent condition is around $25.
