Question:
I would like to know the time period/year made of this teapot. I think it is from the "Village Green" collection. Also the est. of value. Here is a picture of it, and on the bottom of the teapot it says "Redwing USA 258". Please let me know, so that I can tell my mom, since she got it from her mom, and it belonged to her mother’s mother. So yes it’s about 4 generations. Thanks so much, Emmy

Answer: The # 258 teapot is part of the Gypsy Trail collection, not Village Green. This teapot was introduced in 1944, near the end of Gypsy Trail production, and was likely made for only a brief period. Teapot 258 is often called the Saturn teapot because of the ring around the outside. The unique shape appeals to art deco collectors as well as Red Wing and teapot collectors. Value for this teapot in excellent condition (no chips, cracks or significant staining) would be $75-125.
