I received this set from my grandparents years ago. I believe it is Red Wing Hearthside. I am not sure of the exact name of pieces. I will do my best to describe. 10 -cups 12 -saucers 1 -creamer 1 -sugar bowl with lid 1 -salad serving bowl? measuring 4 1/2 inches deep and 12 inches wide (oval) 1 -13 1/2 inch oval serving platter 2 -9 inch vegetable serving bowls ? 12 -5 1/2 inch fruit/desert/sauce bowls ? 12 -8 inch soup or cereal bowls 1 -3 part relish tray 12 -6 1/2 inch bread plates 12 -8 inch plates 11 -6 1/2 inch bowls 9 -11 inch dinner plates I also have 1 more-6 1/2 inch bowl, 1 more-11 inch dinner plate and a butter tray with lid. These all three pieces have a chip in each. What might be the value and could you direct me to anyone who may be interested in purchasing this set?

Answer: You have a very nice set of Hearthside dinnerware. For the most part it includes the basic serving pieces which have comparatively lower values than harder to find items such as the teapot, beverage server, water pitcher, casseroles, etc. Hearthside isn’t rare but it can be fairly difficult to find. Even so Hearthside hasn’t caught on with collectors the way some other patterns have, so values are average at best.

Here are my estimated retail values for your Hearthside pieces. All values are "per each" and assume excellent condition. Damaged pieces are generally worth about half as much.

Salad bowl 12": $40-50
Platter 13": $20-30
3-section relish dish: $20-30
Butter dish with cover: $25-35
Creamer & sugar with cover: $30-35
Cup & saucer: $10-15
Vegetable bowl 9": $20-25
Rim soup bowl 8": $15-20
Dinner plate 11": $15-20
Smaller plates and bowls: $5-10
