Question:
Can you please tell me about this Red Wing butter dish? Dish approximately 7 5/8”W X 4 1/8”D X 3/8”H Lid approximately 6 1/8”W X 2 ½”D X 1 7/8”H There are no chips or cracks that I can see but there are about a dozen minor imperfections that appear to have been part of the manufacturing and painting processes. Most are on the underside of the dish or lid rather than on the exposed surfaces. The lid has a simple floral design of gold, tan and brown on an off-white background. On the dish and lid there is a beige 1/2” wide band outlined in brown. On the bottom of the dish is a reddish-purple winged logo that says: REDWING HAND PAINTED U.S.A. 128

Answer:
The name of the pattern is Tip Toe, as in the song "Tip Toe Through the Tulips". This pattern was introduced in 1958. Tip Toe was made in the Casual shape and thus is a sister pattern to Bob White. But unlike Bob White it did not catch on with the public and production ceased in the early 1960s. A Tip Toe butter dish in excellent condition is worth $15 to $25. The imperfections you mention aren’t visible in the photos but would likely reduce the value.
