Question:
I’m not certain what to call this piece. I think it is a bean pot. It seems to lack the advertising that so many of the Red Wing pieces have. The bottom is marked "RED WING USA" and "405". The outside of the bottom is unglazed while the inside is glazed to match the lid. It has one shallow chip (2 x 6 mm) and three hairline cracks (1/3 to 1/2 the distance from top to bottom). This piece was my mother-in-law\’s so it may be from the 70′s or 80′s. Any information on it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Susan Wollman

Answer: Susan, this is actually dinnerware, from the Provincial Bake Ware line, circa 1963. Beanpot would be a good choice! With the damage, sentimental value would far outweigh actual. (around $10-$15) thanks, steve n rose
