Question:
I have a Red Wing vase that says Red Wing USA 1583 on the bottom. Can you advise the age and value and anything else that applies to the piece. Thank you!
Answer:
Your vase dates to around 1958. You did not send a picture, but I am assuming it is one of the fleck glazes, very popular for many years. Value is around $60.00 or so.

Red Wing Vases #662
Question:
Hello,
I have been looking at your site and saw questions about pieces people have purchased. I inherited 2 matched Red Wing U.S.A 662 vases. They are about 10 inches tall and have a yellow/gold/brown kind of iridescent glaze. They have a flange at the top. They are beautiful. Are these truly Red Wing Pottery? I haven’t seen anything like them on the site.
Thank you, Barb B.
Answer:
I think these are part of the Doric line circa 1960. The glaze sounds right, and the shape and height are correct. I would say value is around $120.00 for the pair.

5 Gallon Waconda Springs Jug
Question: Hello, I’m an Auctioneer in Des Moines, Iowa, I just had consigned to my Auction House this 5 Gallon Waconda Springs Jug. I am not real knowledgable about these.
(A) Is this actually a Red Wing Product, and if so, why is the “Red Wing” Logo Not Printed on the jug. Please explain if you would.
(B) What is the estimated value? It looks as if a tiny chunk of the handle has been glued back on. Also, what is the value if the handle had not been glued back on?
Thank You Very Much
Aaron
Answer: Aaron, this is a vintage 5 Gallon Red Wing Waconda Springs Jug. The reason there is no Red Wing logo is do the customer’s order stating just that. The jug was to advertise Waconda Springs water and not Red Wing Stoneware Company.
Value in perfect condition $200 to $250. With handle damage $100 to $150. Al
