Red Wing 948, hobby shop item
Question:
Hello. I have a nice medallion Red Wing Vase. It is marked Red Wing USA 948 on the bottom. There is also the initials KAL 1971 and these are under the glaze. Is this the name of the artist? I haven’t ever seen this on the bottom of a Red Wing Vase. Can you give me a value on this item. Thanks, Gary
Answer: Hi Gary
this is a hobby shop item. The factory closed in 1967. This was done by someone other than Red Wing, altho it is a Red Wing mold. Value is around 20.00 or so. thanks, steve n rose
large mouth bail handled jug
Question:
Hello. I purchased this large mouth bail handled jug recently. It is about 25 inches in circumference at the seam and 10 inces tall. It is in nice condition except a couple of small chips and some crazing. It is marked Red Wing Stoneware Co. on the bottom with the Red Wing arched and the word Stoneware straight across. Is this a fruit jar? Could you please tell me a value on this piece? Thanks, Gary

Bob White bowls
Question:
Dear Expert: I have a set of 4 bowls with the stamped label "RED WINNG HAND PAINTED OVEN PROOF U.S.A." on each one’s base. There are 3 numbers stamped beneath the "U.S.A.," but they are partially obscured (on each bowl); it looks like the numbers are "241." The bowls are scoop-shaped (i.e., not completely round, but purposely ovalish, with an elongated shape characterized by 2 opposite ends/sides that higher than the other 2 sides). They each have a cream/tan colored background, with brown speckled glaze all over. On the interior of each both, there are two birds (brown and turquoise- colored) and a turquoise colored branch/flower above them. Very faintly in the background behind the birds are what appear to be branches(?). The bowls are in excellent condition — brand new! — with original brown paper/cardboard separators between them. I would love to know how old they are (in addition to their value)! Thank you very much, A. Howard

question from: wecaremain@yahoo.com
Question:
I have the only two red wing pottery shot glasses to exist in the history of Red Wing pottery. They were made in the last ten yrs by special request. They actual pottery and not glass. They are both stamped with the red wing emblem on the side and the official Stamp on bottom. They are also numbered. The first one was stamped 000 because he didn’t like it the second one was stamped 001 and then the mold broken. He said they would never make another again. They are roughly 1 and 1/2 inches tall and 1inch across. I am wondering What a rough value if any they might have. Thank you for your time. I can send pictures later right now these Items are in storage and well wrapped.
