Question:
Hello! I have what I believe to be one of the brushware pieces. It is about 7½" tall and 3 3/4" wide at the top. I can not find any problems with it. The blue ink circle stamp on the bottom says Red Wing Union at the top, Red Wing, Minn. at the bottom and in themiddle Stoneware Co. There is a paranthesis type mark both above and below the Stoneware Co. words. The dark green glaze inside is glossy and it appears to have been a two-part mold, as I see a seam across the bottom and on each corresponding side, there is a "dotted" effect running top to bottom. I got a bunch of vases from my Nana when she passed. On the bottle of one of them, it sayes red wing 975 but does not have a USA. What is the estimated value of it since it doesn’t have the USA on it? I have attached pics. thanks! Melissa

Hi there, I have this red clay crock with brown slip glaze inside and half way down on the outside. It came from a antique shop in the middle of nowhere in the Stearns County, MN area 30 years ago. I`m wondering if it could be a John Paul or a Philleo & Williams piece. I haven`t been able to find much information on those potteries. The piece is thick walled and heavy. there is a incised line about 4 inches down and the handles are similar to red wing handles. The pottery seems hard, not has soft has most redware I have. It stands 12 inches tall. It also has a slight ovoid shape which I would guess would put at being made around the 1860`s or so. There are no gallon marks on it. There is a lot of water glass residue on it, which appears somebody used for preserving a lot of eggs. Can you tell me any thing about it? I can email more pictures if you need them. Thanks Tom
I would like to know more about this piece of Red Wing. I think it belonged to my great aunt and she would have purchased it in the 40′s or 50′s. I couldn’t get a good picture of the back, but the mark says 1306 Red Wing USA The piece is 12 x 12 and just under 2′ high. I’d appreciate anything you can tell me. Joy
Jug is 14 1/2" tall, diameter approx 9" Light tan, somewhat pitted shiny clear glaze. There is a wooden lid, but I don’t think it’s original. No tap. In the center is oval union stoneware co. Red Wing, Minn. 2 1/4" diam. logo. 2" above that is a 1 3/4" "curly" number 3.About 2" below the logo is a 3" by 3 1/2" picture of 2 leaves facing down. Value? Mary
I believe this is a 3 gallon beehive pot with the 3 and the lazy 8 design. I cannot find a redwing seal anywhere on the jug. There are no chips and it is in god condition. I have included a picture of the handle. Is there any other way to determine if it is a Redwing? What do you think is the value the piece? Thanks so much for your help. Christine
